Typical Applications
-
Three-roll hydraulic plate bending for forming cylinders, shells, and curved sections in heavy engineering fabrication.
-
Roll bending of boiler shells, tanks, ducts, and pressure components in cement and power plants.
-
Precision rolling of cylindrical shells for defence, shipbuilding, and pressure vessel fabrication.
-
Suited for routine fabrication thicknesses commonly encountered in power plants, cement plants, steel structures, and EPC workshops.
-
These machines are typically used for shopfloor rolling of medium to heavy MS plates, where uniform curvature is required.
Machine Description
Machine Description
- • Three-roll hydraulic plate bending machine with pre-pinching (pre-bending) capability to reduce flat ends on rolled shells.
- • Hydraulic bottom roll movement with individual planetary gearboxes ensures smooth and controlled rolling of MS plates.
- • Hydraulically operated drop-end allows easy removal of closed shells after rolling.
- • Rolls are manufactured with built-in crowning to compensate for deflection and maintain uniform curvature across the plate width.
- • Rigid fabricated frame with alloy steel rolls provides consistent bending accuracy under shop-floor conditions.
- • Optional top roll drive is available for thin plates and short shells to prevent slippage and surface marking.

Optional Designs
- Three-roll pre-pinch plate bending machines are selected where reduced flat ends, consistent shell geometry, and controlled curvature are required.
- Higher plate widths, higher thickness capacities, and PLC-controlled configurations are available on request.
Configuration Notes
- • Capacities are rated based on steel with Ultimate Tensile Strength (UTS) of 42 kg/mm².
- • Remaining straight length after pre-bending is typically 2.5 to 3 times plate thickness, depending on material grade and setup.
- • Conventional pyramid-type plate rolling machines (without pre-pinch) are also available for cost-sensitive or maintenance-oriented applications where flat-end control is not critical.
- • Machine selection should be based on plate thickness, width, minimum shell diameter, material grade, and fabrication duty cycle — not rolling thickness alone.
