Project Context
A remote greenfield cement plant required a practical mechanical workshop to support routine maintenance activities in an environment with limited access to external vendors and machining facilities.
The location and logistics constraints meant that workshop reliability, serviceability, and self-sufficiency were critical to sustained plant operation.
The project covered two adjacent facilities: Umrangso, a greenfield cement plant, and Lanka-II, a brownfield plant acquired from the erstwhile Calcom Cement near Assam-Meghalaya border.
Parksons’ Role
Parksons provided a maintenance-focused mechanical workshop configured to prioritise reliability, ease of servicing, and long-term usability under remote operating conditions.
The scope was aligned to cement-plant O&M practices rather than broad fabrication or production machining.
Scope of Delivery
Machine Supply & Logistics
Parksons supplied eight core workshop machines along with supporting power tools and consumables required for routine maintenance work.
Machine selection was aligned with cement plant maintenance practices and practical budget constraints, ensuring adequate capability without unnecessary complexity.
Special attention was given to execution challenges associated with a remote site. Packaging, logistics, and documentation were planned to suit long transport routes and limited on-site correction capability.
Service & Coordination
Spares availability and service-support planning were addressed upfront due to the limited local vendor ecosystem.
Delivery was carried out under inspection oversight, with structured coordination to ensure smooth handover and commissioning.
Major Machines Supplied
